so it is not like what "you see is what you get" when camera's rez is advertized! i use my 5DsR with 52mpx sensor and by the time i convert the RAW file to jpeg and meaningful cropping, i feel lucky to get a usable 10-14MB jpeg file, out of it, what a difference. The 40MP leaves enough room for me too crop with my big whites vs 200-400 1.4TC where I should concentrating on the athleteĤ0MB RAW file is deceiving, it is actually 20-24MB jpeg file that is really usable! any meaningful crop will reduce it down to 12-13MB file. a bare bones monster for a sports, runway, BIF or PJ.
For most of my testing, I used two primes the Canon 50mm f/1.2L and the Canon 24mm f/1.4L, as well as two zoom lenses the Canon 17-40mm f/4L and the Canon 70. The center focus point of the Canon 5D Mark III is very fast and accurate, even in low-light situations.

The only limitation of the 1DXIII is resolution. Canon EOS 5D Mark III + EF50mm f/1.2L USM 50mm, ISO 100, 1/60, f/5.6. The OVF for me is key in the sports I shoot. On the equally priced R5, not only do you get a more useful 20fps, but you get vastly better IQ. Mirrorless bodies do very well with high frame rates in the eye viewfinder, so 20 fps on the R5/R6 will be far more likely to be useful than on the 1DXIII.
